Early Fall Photos

Fall is my favorite time of the year.  The leaves are still not at peak, but I wanted to share these with you.

  1. We're about two weeks behind you here in Williamsburg. Thank you for sharing these. Of all the things I miss about living in the mountains, the fall foliage is one of the biggest.

  2. Thanks, Becky!

Rach, just since I took these photos on Sunday, the leaves have really burst into color here in Roanoke! I had planned on taking pics this weekend, but the wind is blowing so hard today I am afraid that there will not be any leaves left!!!

  3. My mom was driving on the Parkway up by Peaks of Otter last weekend and said the leaves just weren't quite there yet...I think she was just taunting me. ;o)

It's been windy as all get out here too, but most of our leaves are still green and hanging on for dear life.

My husband and girlie will be heading to b'burg for the ballgame Saturday. Maybe he can get some pics then--if there's anything left to take photos of! :oP

  4. I had to drive from one side of the Roanoke Valley to the other this morning and the way that the sun was hitting the trees on the mountains was just making them look glorious! Unfortunately, I was on 581 and stopping to take pics was not a good idea!!! :(

  5. :happy sigh: What a fabulous image. Lordy but I'm homesick right about now.

And, yeah, stopping on 581 is DEFINITELY not a good idea, lol. :o)

  6. Yet another one of the things that I miss about Virginia. I remember when, while still living there, people, and lots of them asking what day the colors would be at their peak. "Sir, that will be the 23rd from 1:43 to 2:11. Don't wait until 2:15 or you'll miss it". Some people.
